1973 Mercury 402 40hp outboard motor. This motor was on a boat I bought and replaced the motor.
I am selling this motor for parts/repair. It is not in working condition.
- I have the controls and cables for the motor
- The lower unit is free, it shifts, and had no water in the oil
- Manual tilt
- I jumped the starter and did a compression check. Compression was high and within 3% of each other
- The wiring is old and dry rotted and some is disconnected/broken
- This is a complete motor with electrical problems, even have the steering arm
- Includes hydrofoil
- I will include a factory service manual on CD for the motor
