Howdy! I moved to MA last fall. Previously I lived in an area with a lot of commercial freshwater fishing and got used to pigging out on bycatch. Since I live minutes from the Wachusett Reservoir now--and since I don't have a line on storebought fish out here besides whatever winds up on ice at the Hannaford--I figured it was about time to learn how to fish.
I went to a Mass Wildlife learn-to-fish clinic and didn't do too shabbily with various panfish, so I ponied up for a license today. I plan to pick up a rod and head out to the reservoir in the next week or so. Sawyer Bluff was recommended to me as a good spot. Fingers crossed!
I've been out three times now and caught something good to eat every time. Several bluegill and crappie, plus one bass that was large enough to keep. Yippee![/img]
