There are a few serious hazards in the middle of no where. If you don't know the lake well I would not run around on a gas motor. Typical topwaters in the am. Jigs and senko type baits around rocks and docks. On a tough bite downsizing to a 3" tube sometimes works.Good luck out there.

appreciate the advice...especially the "hazards" advice. I like fishing in my Tracker waaaaay more than my kayak! As far as jigs, topwaters and senkos....music to my ears and 'right down my alley. Thanks Stratos.

Some of the hazards are marked with bouys and other floating objects but not all. If you fly around the west side of the islands you are safer than the east. Stay away from the snake river, there are no fish there.

That is called Snipatuit. Not too deep. Has some nice fish with your usual weeds. Marys pond in Rochester is also nice, No motorboats. electric motor or manual power. There is a ramp for parking and a narrow path to carry a canoe, yack, crawdad. It has ample parking. You can also walk the shore. Hope that helps you out
