Brant Island Cove Description
Brant Island Cove, on the west side of Mattapoissett Neck, may look like an inviting anchorage, but it requires local knowledge. Privately maintained buoys mark the rocky, narrow channel leading to Brant Island Cove and Leisure Shores Marina. This area attracts anglers in search of bluefish, stripers, and other tasty catches. Unlike in other parts of the country where polluted water has degraded fishing to the point where releasing a catch is the smart thing to do, fishing here is very much catch-and-cook.
